Glitch:
Can't open a screen saver's control panel.
Problem:
Double-clicking the
control panel icon launches the screen saver itself instead
of opening the Control Panel window - meaning you can't adjust
the time for when a screen saver becomes active - It always
starts after about 3 minutes.
Blinky has tried
to clearly label each of these "bad" screen savers
with a Glitch Alert. Email Blinky
and let him know of un-labeled screen savers that may be lurking
about this site.
Solution:
There are no good solutions
to this Problem. But if you feel adventurous, try one of these:
|
If you're using
Mac OS 9.1 or later, there
is a workable (but not very practical) solution. Click
here for more

If
you're using Mac OS 9.0 click
here for the solution. |
Alternate
strategy:
 |
You could email
the author or website where you downloaded the screen
saver from. Ask them to update their screen saver software
and remind them its free. Maybe they will do something,
maybe not. If enough people bug them perhaps they'll listen.
Most of the
affected screen savers were made before Mac OS 9.1 was
released and/or the authors did not update the software
they used to make the screen saver, even though updates
are free (go figure).
